Facebook has introduced its new service called as Groups For Schools that targeting students, lecturers and those professional users, from a single institution with a common .edu email address to have their own exclusive group.

  Insync provides front-end service to Google Docs storage

Insync, a start-up software company is offering a free service that allows users to synchronize their documents, files, media content on their PC to Google’s cloud-based storage.

It works conjunction with Google storage to provide enhanced sharing capabilities and lower cost compare to other web-sharing portals. It is extended the sharing capabilities including the nested sharing, read/ write/ read-only sharing permissions, re-sharing permissions for the document files.

It is easy to use and users just need to download the Insync’s installation software and link it to their Google account, then they are able to synchronize the files on Google’s Storage to their local computer. Every time copy or delete the files on the local computer, Insync will auto synchronize the files to the Google’s storage too.

Initially, Google offers 1GB free storage and $5 annually for 20GB, $20 for 80GB and $50 for 200GB up to 16TB web storage.

  Facebook Skype-powered face to face video calling

Facebook has announced its new Skype-powered video calling service for its users at the news conference at Facebook HQ on Wednesday after the company launched a new chat sidebar for multi-person chat few week ago. The new video calling feature rolled out by Facebook does not require users to have a Skype account but only require a one-time setup.

So users can use it by simply click on the “Call” button that appears between the “Message” and “Pole” buttons on a friend’s page or at the top right of the chat Windows. If the recipient is unavailable, users can leave a video message to them and the time and date of the missed call will be listed in ongoing message history with their friend.

  Google Searches enhanced for travelers

Google has recently enhanced its search engine for travelers by showing detailed flights results from the search. Users can now view a summary of the flights information right below the text box.

The information includes the flights from and to a specific state or country and the available airlines that provided the services. By a single click on the schedule of non-stop flights, a list of scheduled flights’ timetable will be listed immediately.
