Let me share my understanding of the different between Cost-per-Click (CPC) and (CPM). In (CPC) based advertising, if the advertiser is set $1 per click, then once the ad is clicked 10 times, advertiser has to pay $10 for the publishers, whereas in (CPM) based advertising, advertiser may purchase a minimum of impressions, the amount paid per impression to publisher is calculated by dividing the (CPM) by 1000, i.e. let say advertiser pay $10 for 1000 impressions equal $0.01 per impression (An impression is a single instant of advertiser’s ad showed once at publisher’s website, advertiser use impressions to measure the number of views of their ad received and publisher often sell ad according to impressions). $10 CPM /1000 impressions = $0.01 per impression

So, the more larger of your site’s traffic/ impressions, the more you can earn once your visitors click on the ad, it is calculate in click-through ratio as calculation above, but do not try to click the ads by yourself, this might lead to fraudulent clicks.
