Zotac releases sphere-shaped Zbox mini-PCs

Zotac, the manufacturer of graphics cards and small form PCs, has announced its new sphere-shaped Zbox OI520 series mini-PCs. The OI520 comes in two versions, which are the bare-bones model has no hard drive or RAM; and another is a PLUS model that has 4GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive.

Both versions have pre-installed operating system and support Windows and most recent Linux distros. Both models feature an Intel Core i5 4200u dual-core CPU, Intel HD 4400 graphics, HDMI and DisplayPort, an SATA connector and mSATA connector, 2 memory slots that support up to 16GB of RAM, and a 2.5-inch drive bay for a hard drive or SSD.

They are also feature Gigabit Ethernet, four USB 3.0 ports, three USB 2.0 ports, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and audio jacks. The sphere-shaped design and the back of the device is flat as is at the bottom.

Zbox sphere form factor is also one of the easiest to customize with the top twists off for tool-less upgrades. The Zbox sphere OI520 mini-PC will be available at Euros 399 for bare-bone version and about Euros 479 for the Plus version.
