It brings all the advantages of solid state storage such as reduced heat and noise; low power consumption, increased transfer speeds up to 410MB per second for read data and 180MB per second for write data. It can also be utilized as a cache drive when used together with the standard hard disk drive or serve as standalone primary storage (boot drive).

With the JMicron controller and Multi-Level Cell (MCL) NAND Flash chips, the SSD is capable to deliver up to 45000 IOPS. When the SSD is used in a hybrid configuration, performance is about of the systems using SSD as primary drive but mSATA SSD is much lower cost.

The SP310 is small and light weight, measuring only 50.95 X 30 X 4mm. It is suitable for many motherboards on the market that have an mSATA slot. Besides these, it supports Intel Smart Response Technology (ISRT), which is a caching mechanism for Z68 chipsets and allows a SATA Solid-State Drive to function as cache for mechanical hard disk drive.
