WiGig technology adopts multi-gigabit speed wireless communication to operate over the 60GHz frequency band and capable to deliver data transfer rates up to maximum of 7Gbps, which is extremely fast like 8 antenna transmission and ten times faster than the Wi-Fi 802.11n standard. It will allow devices to communicate without wires or cables at multi-gigabit speeds.

WiGig is on track to become the next generation of multi-gigabit wireless technology with an ever-increasing demand for faster wireless communication in the market. WiGig will have advanced Protocol Adaption Layers (PAL) that is designed for PC, mobile applications.

WiGig is also a single technology for instantaneous file transfers, wireless display, docking and even streaming high-definition video/ movies on wireless enabled devices. WiGig Alliance has mentioned this technology is nearly ready and with chips from multiple WiGig member companies already in production and will be ready by middle of 2013. WiGig technology will be expected and demonstrated by several WiGig member companies at CES 2013 in Las Vegas.
