It is also backward compatible with standard 802.11a/b/g/n. The router is powered by Broadcom’s 5G Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11ac chips, which is three times faster than today’s 802.11n routers. This allows users to stream HD movies and videos without any interruption.

The Netgear R6300 Wi-Fi router comes with the speeds up to 1300 Mbps on 5Ghz and 450Mbps on 2.4Ghz, so users can download, surf the Internet faster and large videos and music files to be synchronized more quickly.

It also supports Advanced Quality of Services (QoS), IPc6 and AirPrint, which allows users to print on any USB or networked printer directly from an iPad or iPhone. Besides these, it is DLNA ready and can stream to any DLNA compatible device in the network, including the latest Smart Television, Blu-ray players, media players, game consoles, handheld devices and tablets.

In term of security, it comes with wireless security turned on out-of-the-box with pre-configured network name and password as well as protecting home Wi-Fi networks by default. The Netgear R6300 Wi-Fi router will be available in May 2012 for $199.99.
