EPF declares 6 percent of decade-high dividend for 2011

The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) is Malaysia’s premier retirement savings fund that contributed monthly by employees and providing basic financial security for retirement. Recently, EPF board with approval of the Minister of Finance has declared a dividend rate of 6.00 percent, which is also the higher dividend over the last 10 years.

It is slightly increased from year 2010, which is about 5.80 percent. According to the EPF, at 31st December 2011, EPF total investment assets continued to have a healthy growth of 6.52 percent compared to previous year.

In order to achieve steady returns for the long-term, the EPF continued to invest the bulk of its investment assets or 60.79 percent in stable and conventional low risk fixed income instruments.

Employees who also the EPF members may check their EPF Account Statement for crediting of the year 2011 dividend through the EPF Kiosks, counters or i-Akaun now.
