Belkin @TV Plus turns smartphone into TV

Belkin, the manufacturer of consumer electronics that specializes in connectivity devices, has recently introduced its new @TV Plus media streaming box that turn Wi-Fi enabled smartphones, tablets, laptops into TV.

It supports 3G/ 4G, Wi-Fi connectivity and it capable to pull audio and video from set-top boxes then streams it to the devices. It allows users to watch live Television programs or watch the recorded live Television.

Belkin @TV Plus using component cables for video input instead of the standard HDMI interface. It can streams 1080i video to any operating system including the Apple Mac, PC, Android, iOS. It comes with easy to use channel guide that enables users effortlessly scroll through channels with Swipe Surf easy.

An Infrared Blaster is also included in the package for set-top box control from the apps. Belkin @TV Plus will be release in the middle of July for $150 and associated apps are released earlier in this month.

    Over $150 is far too much to pay for a device that can stream live TV. I paid less than half of that for a Sling Adapter from Dish and the Dish Remote Access app it works with is free. I found out that Dish was the first to offer streaming technology a couple years back when I started working for them, and it seems like they’re still the only ones that offer it at a reasonable price.
