Asus announces 10.1 inch MeeGo-Based Eee PC X101 netbook

Asus has recently announced its new Eee PC X101 netbook, which comes with thin and light-weight design for maximum portability. It only has 17.6mm thickness, about 920 grams in weight and featuring a Chiclet keyboard for typing as well as large responsive touchpad.

This 10.1-inch Eee PC X101 is powered by a 1GHz Intel Atom N435 processor (Upgradable to N455); 1GB DDR3 RAM (Expandable to 2GB); and 2.5-inch SATA 8GB Solid-State Drive. The screen display is built by LED backlit screen with 1024 x 600 WSVGA resolution. It also supports Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0 technology.

The new MeeGo operating system built on the X101 allows users stay connected to Internet with their friends on multiple social networking sites. It brings the new intuitive interface, integrating Facebook, Twitter and more famous social media sites onto the homepage. Users can easily and quick accesses to the site with a single click away.

Eee PC X101 can also be a learning tool. It has pre-installed interactive games, videos, MP3 and over 300 pieces of material was developed by English Language Training (ELT) leaders and the British Council with the application designed by Intel’s award winning Performance Learning Solutions.

It has two USB 2.0 ports; a Micro SD card reader slot; and 3 cells battery that capable to support up to four hours of power supply. Besides these, Asus offers 2GB Dropbox web storage for free.
