Archos introduces new Android Internet Tablet

Archos, a French consumer electronics company that specializes in portable media players and portable storage devices, has recently introduced its new Archos 48 Internet tablet that running on Google Android platform.

Archos 48 comes with a 4.8-inch (800 x 480) pixel of TFT LCD touch-screen display and it is powered by 800MHz ARM Cortex-A8 dual-issue, super-scalar processor with 256MB of SDRAM. Archos 48 is mostly identical to its previous model Archos 5 Internet tablet, which had been introduced at year 2009, only the new model does not has built-in GPS function.

Archos 48 is equipped with excellent multimedia capabilities that allow users to play High-Definition videos; record their favorite programs and play out on the HD Television via the HDMI interface; surf the Internet and stay connected with the integrated email and contacts applications. Users can also customize their device by downloading their favorite Google Android applications for free.

The device has 500GB of internal storage capacities, which is large enough to store hundreds of HD movies; thousands of MP3 songs and million of photos. It also supports for Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n; Bluetooth connectivity. Archos 48 has built-in speaker, leg stand, microphone and USB 2.0 interface for data transfer.

Besides these, users are allowed to download latest firmware update from Archos official website to ensure the software is always up to date. Archos 48 is now available for $299.99.
