OCZ latest Enyo USB 3.0 portable solid state drives

OCZ Technology Group Inc., the leader in design and manufacture of high-performance solid state drives, has recently introduced its new collection of solid state drives called as Enyo portable SSDs.

The drive has improved performance and durability with the super speed 5GB per second port. It can perform maximum 260MB per second of read and 200MB per second of write capabilities to back up 1TB of data in 47 minutes. It is about ten times faster than USB 2.0 and it allows backward-compatible for the non-USB 3.0 port. The drive only requires low CPU utilization and better power management, which only needs 2.4 watts when active and 1.1 watt when idle.

With the Enyo portable solid state drives, users can fast transferring their high-definition videos, graphics, music, plug-and-play via the USB cable and there is not need to have additional power cable.

Enyo portable solid state drives have 64MB onboard cache and utilize the Multi-Level Cell (MLC) flash technology, which using multiple levels per cell to allow more bits to be stored. It helps to reduce errors while performing the data transfer from the computer to the drives. It has blue LED indicators for the status of data transferring.

The drives will perform background garbage collection process to perform erasure of the whole block before reuse the block to store the new data in order to avoid fragmented data and slow down the performance. The drives have shock resistant up to 1500G and 1.5 million hours Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).

The drive measures 56 x 120 x 10 mm and weights 87.7 grams that encased in a sleek and stylish anodized aluminum casing. There are three storage capacities available for Enyo portable solid state drives, which are 64GB, 128GB and 256GB for $229.99, $409.99 and $819.99 respectively.
