Nokia N8, the world’s first Symbian ^3 smartphone

Nokia has recently announced its new smartphone N8 through its official website on 27th April 2010. Nokia N8 is the world’s first smartphone that powered by the latest Symbian ^3 operating system that allows users to stay connected to their favorite social networking portals on the move.

Nokia N8 has major improvement with its new and advanced features, which include multi-touch and support for gestures such like pinch-to-zoom. The improved 2D and 3D graphics for a faster and more responsive user interface, while the device capable to have greater memory management and a visual task manager to ensure the applications run smoothly.

The top highlighted feature from Nokia N8 will be the 12-megapixel camera with auto focus, Carl Zeiss optics and Xenon flash. This high-resolution of camera allows users to capture photos and 720p HD quality videos recording as a dedicated camera device. The video clips can also be edited with a smart built-in film editing software.

Nokia N8 has 16GB of built-in internal memory and it can be hot swappable to maximum 32GB with a microSD card. It supports Bluetooth v2.1 plus EDR and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n connectivity.

It has a 3.5-inch of the screen size with OLED (640 x 360 pixel) of touch-screen display. It is capable to display 16.7 million color on its capacitive touch-screen. The device is equipped with orientation sensor (Accelerometer); compass (Magnetometer); proximity sensor and ambient light detector.

Nokia N8 comes with the HDMI connector that allows users to connect the smartphone to the high-definition TV. Beside these, users can watch high-definition videos with Dolby Digital Plus surround sound and access to web TV application for watching programs, news, and entertainment channels whenever they go as a portable entertainment device.

Nokia N8 allows users to live updates their social networking sites such like Twitter, Facebook direct to the home-screen, while there is also three customizable home-screens that can be loaded with applications and widgets.

It offers the great capability to read and send messages, update status, share photos and location with a single touch handy application. Its built-in A-GPS provides location based services with free global Ovi Maps walk and drive with voice-guided navigation in more that 70 countries worldwide.

There are five available colors for this smartphone, which are Silver white, Dark Grey, Orange, Blue and Green. Nokia N8 is expected to be available in the third quarter of 2010 for €370.
