Kingston announced its first USB 3.0 Flash Drive

Kingston Digital Inc., on September 14th 2010, had announced the shipment of its first USB 3.0 Flash drive. The Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 Flash drive is offering a high-capacity, ultra-fast storage solution in a portable drive.

DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 is equipped with USB 3.0 standard, which is up to ten times faster of the data transfer rates compare to the current USB 2.0 specification. It has a read speed of 80MB per second and write speed of 60MB per second. The huge storage capacity and fast speed allow users to backup files, fast transferring of large files in a short time.

The Flash drive measures in 73.70 x 22.20 x 16.10 mm is encased with a solid casing and lanyard loop. Its capable to write 3.9GB of data in 1 minute 13 seconds and transfer 4.4GB of data in 1 minute 23 seconds. To ensure backwards compatibility, Kingston is including the Y cable, which is for some USB 2.0 ports that require it to initialize USB 3.0 drive.

Besides theses, Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 Flash drive comes with five-year warranty and 24/7 technical support. It is available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB of storage capacities for $89, $138 and $270 respectively.
