I-O Data announces new portable hard disk drive

I-O Data, the Japanese computer peripheral manufacturer, has recently announced its upcoming portable HDPN-U500/ V external hard drive, which can be used to store/ retrieve data directly from the video camera via the USB cable and without assistance of a computer.

It brings the greatest benefits with its 500GB of storage capacity for travelers who likes to have video recording most of the time. It supports for directly connection to the major brands of video cameras such as JVC Everio; Sanyo Zakuti; Sony Handycam and it acts as an extended storage device for video cameras.

The hard disk drive has enhanced safety protection and body impact resistance. It prevents shock circuit, data lost and damage for accidentally dropped from 70cm height. The hard disk drive comes with Mach Drive LE software, which is useful for speeding up the read and write data process. Users can experience the full functionality of Mach Drive LE software for three months trial.

Besides these, there are plenty of free utilities and software available for download and improve the performance of the hard disk drive.
1. EasySave LE, a software utility to backup folders and files.
2. Synchronize Files for easy synchronization between the source and backup files.
3. Watch Eco helps to reduce hard drive power consumption and cost saving on electricity.
4. IO Drive Center, an integrated management software helps to display a list of attached drives.
5. Mach USB helps to enhance 30% of data transfer rate, providing faster disk access.
6. HDD Lock helps to lock the entire hard disk to prevent unauthorized access to read/ write data.
