Greenliant has begun sampling its super-slim NANDrive SSD

Greenliant Systems, a dedicated company to develop energy-efficient, reliable and secure storage solutions for the embedded system, data center and mobile Internet markets, has begun sampling its new SATA interface NANDrive GLS85LS product family.

Greenliant Systems is now in process of sending out the commercial-grade samples to a few selected group of device manufacturers. Also, Greenliant Systems is the company that first to offer Advanced Security, NAND lifespan monitoring and data integrity protection in small form factor SATA SSD. The NANDrive combines with an integrated SATA NAND controller and the widest range of NAND flash capacities from 2GB to 64GB in a multi-chip package.

The Greenliant’s SATA NANDrive device measures in 14 x 24 x 1.85mm. It is offered in a 145 ball grid array (BGA), 1mm ball pitch package for space saving and cost-effective mounting to a system motherboard. It is specially designed for data storage applications in a portable computers, automotive and networking systems.

According to the CEO from Greenliant Systems, the NANDrive is providing superior reliability and the addition of SATA-based NANDrive devices, which provides their customers with more options to choose a compatible SSD that best suits to their needs for various market segments and applications.

Greenliant’s SATA NANDrive has more benefits,
1. Energy efficient – Power consumption as low as 500mW for active-mode and it also supports power-down mode to further reduce power consumption to 10mW, which is best for battery-powered applications.

2. Advanced security – It includes a unique device ID, password protection and four independent zones that allows user to set different protection levels.

3. SSD lifespan monitoring – Greenliant utilizes industry-standard S.M.A.R.T commands with a GUI based monitoring and analysis tool to provides custom alerts to indicate the remaining useful life of the SSD.

4. Data integrity protection – Greenliant introduces a system-level firmware solution to address the NAND data retention problem and preserve data integrity during power interruption and reduce the risk of data loss.

5. Advanced wear leveling – It is based on the advanced static and dynamic wear-leveling algorithms to maximize the NANDrive lifespan and allow system engineers to address applications with long lifetime requirements.
