BlueAnt S4, the voice controlled car speakerphone

BlueAnt Wireless, the designer and distributor of Bluetooth devices and accessories, has recently announced its BlueAnt S4, which is the world’s first voice controlled Bluetooth car speakerphone.

BlueAnt S4 allows the drivers to make and receive calls without single touch on the phone device, and it is completely controllable by their voice commands while driving on the road. Its high performance and full duple speaker can produce clear and better audio sound.

It is easy to activate the voice commands by simple say the hands-free trigger phrase “BlueAnt Speak to Me” and the S4 is really to operate bases on the voice commands. Drivers can also make a call by say “Phone Commands” and the S4 is really for the voice dialing.

Besides these, the BlueAnt S4 can read out the caller’s name or the number for the incoming calls, drivers can prefer to say “Answer” to accept the call or “Ignore” to reject the call.

BlueAnt S4 is integrated with the Vlingo SafeReader, this application uses Text To Speech (TTS) technology that capable to read the messages, which gives the drives an alternative way to consume incoming text or email massages while on the road. To get this application working, drives just need to press a button and say “Start SafeReader” and all the incoming messages will be speak out audibly.

BlueAnt S4 can store up 2,000 phonebook entries and it supports true multi-point for connecting and conducting calls on two cellphones at the same time. It is integrated A2DP streaming audio functionality, which allows drivers to listen music, podcast or turn-by-turn direction voice guide from a GPS application on the cellphone.

It is also integrated with Microsoft Bing-411 service, which allows drivers to tell the device the city and state they are looking for, then Bing-411 will attempt to locate an address and gives the directions over the phone or via text message. Drives can also use Bing-411 to get stock information, movie times, weather forecasts, sports, news and even the traffic updates.

BlueAnt S4 measures 124 x 60.7 x 16 mm and supports up to 20 hours talk time and up to 700 hours standby time. It comes with two metal visor clips for easy attached to the vehicle’s sun visor and it is expected to be available at this coming June 2010 for $100.
