ASUS first to import notebooks with Optimus technology

ASUS, the hardware manufacturer, has announced a new range of notebooks that equipped with NVIDIA’s Optimus technology. The notebooks that currently equipped with Optimus technology include the ultra slim and light U/UL series (UL50Vf; U30Jc) models; Multimedia N series (N61Jv, N71Jv, N82Jv) models. There are now available in the US.

The latest N series notebooks offered by ASUS represent in mobile multimedia entertainment technology. It combines optimized graphics performance and better battery life for heavy multimedia users.

With the Optimus technology, the notebooks can intelligently monitor applications, and produce the right amount of graphics performance for the graphics display. It uses the discrete GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) for multimedia, games, applications and integrated graphics for the Internet, emails and documents.

The N series notebooks also feature the ASUS SonicMaster technology for enhanced audio clarity, fine-tunes noise balance, volume and dynamic sound range while minimizing environmental interference. The Video Magic software performs true-to-life videos through GPU computing. It can boosts the standard 480p resolution up to full high definition 1080p as well as naturalizing the color and brightness of the images display. The N series notebooks are equipped with USB 3.0 for high speed data transfer up to 5GB per second.

Optimus technology is energy saving and it can automatically switch between using a device’s integrated or discrete video cards depend on the task being performed without having to manually change settings. It delivers the best graphics performance and energy saving in any aspect. Optimus technology offers more than 10 times better performance compare to NVIDIA CUBA technology and it allows users to experience the gaming, 3D image works, and graphics drawing without any delay and interruption.

    Great laptop so far. Excellent battery life. This was a migration from the ASUS 1000H, so small size was not an issue. In fact the screen and keyboard seem huge in comparison.
