ASUS launches its EeeKeyboard PC with UWB technology

On 1st May 2010, Asus had finally launched its EeeKeyboard PC, which was first introduced at CES 2009 and awarded the first place at the Cebit-Preview 2009.

Asus EeeKeyboard PC is an innovative designed keyboard with cutting edge technology that works with any high-definition Television, monitor and projector.

It can be turned into a full-fledged PC along with its built-in five inch (800 x 480 pixels) of multi-touch panel, which able to control the on-screen cursor to launch programs, send instant message. It serves as a touch-pad for controlling the on-screen cursor, just like the notebook.

Users can set their favorite programs on the quick launch keys and programs shortcuts for instant access with a single press on the button. Users can also set the EeeKeyboard PC to display media player’s interface for easy browse, select and play their favorite songs.

Asus EeeKeyboard PC features UWB (Ultra-WideBand) technology, which enables the keyboard connects to display devices wirelessly and allows it to stream high definition 720p videos within five meters of distance. It allows data transfer for non-video up to ten meters of range.

UWB Wireless Display ensures the EeeKeyboard PC to have higher data transfer rates and reliable link during the data transfers. It supports Bluetooth v2.1 connectivity and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi channel in 2.4GHz band.

The keyboard is powered by Intel Atom N270 and 945GSE/ ICH7-M chipset. It has 1GB of DDR2 on-board memory and 16GB/ 32GB SSD of hybrid storage. It comes with video decoder; two internal speaker and built-in microphone. There is three USB 2.0 port, HDMI output interface; Antenna; headphone output jack; microphone port; VGA interface and Giga Lan RJ-45 connector used for computer networking.

The internal battery can support the active activities on the EeeKeyboard PC up to four hours or users can prefer to purchase the power adapter (36 Watts) for the power supply. It measures 16.7 x 5.7 x 1 inches, light weight in 2.4lb and only available in silver color for $599.
