Aliph’s Jawbone Icon, intelligent Bluetooth headset

Aliph, a privately-held company headquartered in San Francisco, has introduced its new Jawbone Icon, which is the world’s first intelligent Bluetooth headset. Since its last premium Bluetooth headset, the Jawbone Prime hit the market in April 2009, now the company is back with a new and smaller version of Jawbone Icon.

Jawbone Icon is equipped with NoiseAssassin 2.5 noise elimination technology that able to set a new standard for mobile voice quality, eliminates background noise and provides unparalleled call clarity in any environments.

It has new signal processing for improved inbound audio clarity, the new volume management system that could eliminate the need of adjust the volume from one caller to the next. Jawbone Icon comes with a multifunction button that placed along the back edge of the headset, a microUSB port and a hardware power switch on the inner side.

Jawbone Icon supports for the company’s new launched portal MyTalk. MyTalk is a software customization platform that allow users to personalize the speaking voice and direct access to services like directory assistance and so on.

Users can also update their headset’s firmware directly from MyTalk once the new version has released in the near future. MyTalk’s AudioApps application allows user to change the voice that conveys important information such like battery life and caller ID. It also allows users to personalize the voice in English, French, German and Spanish. MyTalk’s DialApps application allows users to customize an easy access button that links their Jawbone Icon directly to 411, voice-to SMS and voice dial services.

More features for the Jawbone Icon,
1. Ability to display a visual battery meter in the iPhone’s status bar.
2. Bluetooth 2.1 Plus Enhanced Data Rate (EDR) support.
3. Support up to 4.5 hours of talk time and standby time more than 10 days.
4. Multi-point for switching between two calls on different mobile phones.
5. On/ Off slide switch and an easy access button for simplicity.

The Aliph Jawbone Icon Bluetooth headset comes in six different styles and is now available for $100. Additionally, Aliph’s technology has been optimized for Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA) to maximize communications clarity in most hostile conditions.
