USB 3.0 enabled devices are gradually introduced to replace the standard USB 2.0 but this is still new with limited chipset support in the PC market. No every computer and laptop compatible with USB 3.0 and most of them no support for SuperSpeed transfer rate when connected to the USB 3.0 enabled devices. Fresco Logic, Brando and StarTech have introduced their ExpressCard USB 3.0 adapters to enable the add-on capability on SuperSpeed transfer rate when connect an USB 3.0 enabled devices.
Fresco Login ExpressCard

Fresco Logic was the first company introduced the FL1000 USB 3.0 ExpressCard adapter. It can be used to any computer and laptop to provide USB 3.0 interface support through an ExpressCard slot. The FL1000 provides users with immediate and easy access to SuperSpeed USB impressive bandwidth, address the needs of HD video streaming and data transferring.
It includes USB 3.0 (5GB per second) controller, USB 3.0 xHCI and PCI Express controller and transceiver. According to Fresco Logic, this FL1000 adapters are available in the market and mass production will begin in the fourth quarter of this year.
Brando ExpressCard

Accessory supplier Brando has begun to sell their ExpressCard 34 add-in with a pair of SupoerSpeed ports. It comes with a separate USB power cable that links a USB 2.0 port to a power jack on the side of the ExpressCard.
It compliant with USB 1.0, 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0. It supports Windows 7, Vista, XP and measures 116 x 40 x 14mm. It is available for $39.
StarTech ExpressCard

Recently, SuperTech had also announced ExpressCard USB 3.0 adapter that internally powered by NEC uPC720200. This new USB 3.0 adapter card can be plugged into any compatible ExpressCard slot on your computer or laptop for SuperSpeed data transfer rate.
It can scale up to 5GB per second, which is 10 times faster that current USB 2.0 host port. For example, 25GB of data can be transferred in 70 seconds whereas it takes 14 minutes when data transferred using the 2.0 protocol. This device helps to perform more effective works and it is also fully compatible to work with existing USB 2.0 and 1.1 enabled devices. It is available for $49.99.
