C-motech Mangrove, the first Wimax enabled Smartbook

C-motech is wireless data communications corporation from South Korea. Recently, the company had introduced its new Smartbook product called “Mangrove”, which is a mobile device equipped with a PDA and netbook functions. According to the news, C-motech is the first Korean company to release a Smartbook that equipped with the snapdragon and contains more computer-like features than a Smartphones, also has a better communications function compared to a standard netbooks.

The term of “Smartbook” refers to a mobile device that consists of the functionality between Smartphones and netbooks and the device capable to deliver features typically found in Smartphones such like all day battery life, 3G connectivity, GPS in a slightly larger device with a full physical or on-screen keyboard.

Mongrove is a seven inch bar type device with Qualcomm’s next generation chip and it runs Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system. It has minimized power consumption by applying the operating system for mobile device such like the Android and Windows mobile.

It adopted Snapdragon platform to make the device for real time ubiquitous computing with low power consumption for day long battery life because Snapdragon is a single CPU to perform communication like 3G/CDMA, so this could avoid the need for a CPU and chip to communication separately.
