Finally, Apple iPhone 3G is officially launched in Malaysia. Today 20^th of March 2009, there will be an official launch ceremony of iPhone 3G at KLCC convention Center by Maxis Communication. According to the news those 700 people who have booked this iPhone have been invited to this event. This probably will be the great news for those people who want to own a iPhone without buying and shipping from eBay.com; eliminate the hassle of getting iPhone from other countries or iPhone websites.

One of the phone service provider in Malaysia ~ Maxis Communications expects mobile Internet users to increase with the launch of Apple iPhone 3G, third generation. Maxis has been negotiating with Apple Inc. on the iPhone deal since five months ago and eventually Maxis brought in the Apple iPhone 3G in Malaysia and offer three iPhone 3G plans with contracts for the iPhone users. Maxis also presented iPhone 3G to Prime Minister at a separate event in Cyberjaya.

The phone is sold in 85 countries and has about 25k applications that can be downloaded by the users. This made Apple inc. the third largest mobile phone maker by value behind the Nokia and Samsung.

The phone is nice in term of design and its multi-touch screen feature (329 x 480 pixels). The screen color is TFT 16 millions and they are two available colors, which are black (8G/ 16G) or white (8G) with weight of 133 grams with status of 100% factory unlocked.

The Dimensions 115.5 x 62.1 x 12.3 mm. The Network technology included GSM 850/ 900/ 1800/ 1900 and HSDPA 850/ 1900/ 2100.

The price are vary from different sources and news that I read from the iPhone website, the approximate price is about RM3000 above and in range of RM2500 to RM2700 for the AP set that selling in Malaysia.
