Tiramisu special ice cream

Tiramisu is a popular Italian dessert and it mostly served in every Italian restaurant, cake shop and some coffee shop. Tiramisu contains both caffeine and alcohol in a creamy cheese mixture in layers, and it can be simplistic or complex such like featuring layer in different flavors and textures. Mostly people like to make tiramisu in the cake shape with simplest blend of ingredients to form a fast, tasty cake and served as dessert after dine.

I like tiramisu cake, as well as the tiramisu special ice cream, which I found this type of ice cream when I shopped at some supermarket at KLCC this morning.

First time bought this tiramisu special ice cream and just want to know is the taste. It costs RM1.60 for all the ‘First Choice’ branded ice cream.

The content of the ice cream seem good, and it tasted good too. The chocolate and milky cream mixed with the nut. It was delicious, with the tiramisu mixed inside the ice cream favor.

Normally, I can not find this type of ice cream at some medium and small shops around the KL and petaling jaya. It seems this type of ice cream has introduced quite a long time ago, and many recipe to make tiramisu ice cream can be found any where on the Internet.

A sample example to make a tiramisu cake such like one article I found on the Internet. The ingredients
3 cups of whole milk.
1 cup of cream
1 vanilla bean
6 large egg yolks
1 cup granulated sugar
2 cups mascarpone cheese (triple creme cheese)
1 tablspoon espresso, instant granules
1/4 cup coffee liqueur
1/3 bittersweet dark chocolate or semisweet chocolate (shaved)
5 crumbled lady finger cookies.

1. Combine milk and half of the vanilla bean in a heavy soucepot.
2. Bring up to just boiling point over medium heat.
3. Whisk the eggs with the sugar until well blended.
4. Add hot milk mixture into the beaten yolk/ sugar mixture whisking well.
5. Return all to the saucepot on medium heat.
6. Cook over medium low heat until mixture coats the back of a spoon.
7. Stirring constantly and not boiling.
8. Remove the vanilla bean and clean off.
9. Scrape seeds that remain in the pod and throw away the empty pod.
10. Mix the seeds in, with mascarpone cheese and beat until creamy
11. Strain if desired the egg milk mixture into a large bowl, pushing through well.
12. This will remove any cooked egg that might have occurred.
13. The bowl of custard, combine the mascarpone and seeds.
14. Chill mixture covered overnight or until completely cold about five hours.
15. Stir in the coffee crystals.
16. pour into the freezer container and process as manufacturers directions.
17. Just before removing from the machine about five minutes, pour in the coffee liqueur and chocolate shavings.
18. Can add five crumbled lady finger biscuits, if you desire the cookie in the ice cream.
19. The liqueur, chocolate and crumbled biscuits go in the last three to five minutes of freezing in the machine, these just have to be folded inches.
20. Spoon into a tupperware or covered freezer type container and freeze solid. Done of the tiramisu ice cream.
