Here is the little information that I received from an email about the method to check where your hand phone was originally from. Please press *#06# on your hand phone, then the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number will appears, then followed to check the 7^th and 8^th numbers. An example of the phone serial no for my Sony Ericsson T610 was IMEI 351988-00-02****-3-05.

1. If the 7^th and 8^th are 00 this means your hand phone was manufactured in original factory, which is the best Mobile quality.

2. If the 7^th and 8^th are 01 or 10 this means your hand phone was manufactured in Finland, which is very good quality.
3. If the 7^th and 8^th are 08 or 80 this means your hand phone was manufactured in Germany, which is fair quality.

4. If the 7^th and 8^th are 02 or 20 this means your hand phone was assembled in China, which is low quality.

5. If the 7^th and 8^th are 13 or 31 or 03 or 30 this means your hand phone was assembled in Azerbaijan, which is very bad quality and also dangerous for your health.I believe as a consumer of hand phone, we are willing to pay more for the phone manufactured at its original factory rather than the one with cheaper price and not last longer; without warranty stated or reassembled at some where else that we do not even know that.
